Apple not happy with the iSlate hunt

The entire hunt around the new Apple iSlate tablet has not been favorably received by the producer. For months there is much speculation about the newest gadget from Apple. Online publisher Gawker rewards the first party which can provide evidence of the existence of the Apple iSlate. A step too far, says Apple.

The numerous rumors go that Apple will present the new tablet at a meeting in San Francisco. The gadget is equipped with a large touch screen but without keyboard, which is especially suitable for multimedia applications, such as watching movies. Also magazines new lease on life with the tablet.

There is no confirmation from Apple, but nothing denied. Therefore Gawker wrote a game in which participants have to come with evidence for the existence of the iSlate. A real proof will be rewarded with more than 10,000 euros!

A letter from Apple’s lawyers towards Gawker accuse that the publisher calls his readers to theft of trade secrets, which is punishable. “Apple considers the information about the device you’re referring to as strictly confidential,” their letter said. This reaction makes the rumors even further fueling and show that there is indeed a iSlate is to come!

Can’t blame Apple, this is encouraging industrial espionage. Although I sure would have liked a sneak peek.
